Before you read the main portion of this post, I hope you like the new look of my blog/website! It was an unplanned design that came from a mistake made on my part — I deleted my other design on accident — everything gone! I was forced to find another design QUICK. Thankfully everything came together and I’m SO pleased with the outcome. 🙂 ______________________________________________________________________

Sitting down to write this post brings all sorts of thoughts to mind. I feel like I have neglected my blog and my business– one of those, “Well I’ll get to it…” kind of things. So I’m here to inform you about the many changes that are coming to both my personal life and my business.

Not sure if you were aware but last year was my first year as a middle school math teacher. The entire teaching experience was nothing less than I expected: hectic, a bit stressful, and fun. Because I had other obligations to attend to (my students 😉 ), I put photography on hold. All of my extra time went to planning for my students. I slowly but surely pushed photography to the side and committed 100% to being a teacher. It wasn’t easy but it was very rewarding; I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I successfully made it through the year and couldn’t be more proud of my students.

In the midst of teaching and planning, my husband and I found out (Dec. 2, 2012) we were/are expecting. Now, if I’d had it my way, this sweet little boy still growing in my belly would have been born in May. But, like usual, God had other plans — better plans. I am happy to announce that this year, I will not be teaching but will instead be home with my baby boy (due August 14th). I am thankful for the opportunity to stay home to raise my son. Now, is staying at home an option for every new mother? No. But it is an option for us and is the right decision for my family.

My plan at this time is to take on as many sessions as I can. This summer I will be limited to the number of sessions I can commit to — I’m 8 months pregnant! — but I hope to have a busier photography schedule towards the end of the year.

*So, if you are interested in a session, please don’t hesitate to contact me!

I’m excited to once again provide photography that is: Fun. Relaxed. You. 🙂

  • LOVE the website, Mikka! Also, you should put more photos up of your bump because I bet you are just TOO cute! I am coming to Sville on July 3rd and maybe we can meet up for a chat! Keep on rocking, sister!ReplyCancel
